Java Card OS Architect (all genders)

About the Role

  • Architect and develop secure embedded operating systems for high-security smartcard controllers
  • Define JavaCard-based OS architecture, security concepts, and software components for smartcard platforms
  • Work with state-of-the-art microcontrollers, modern IDEs, and industry-leading development frameworks
  • Design and implement security-critical functionality, including authentication mechanism, cryptographic services, and secure data management
  • Develop, integrate and support smartcard applications and applets
  • Collaborate with leading global technology partners
  • Support teams in integrating AI-assisted tools into secure development workflows e.g. code review, secure coding verification
  • Provide technical guidance throughout the software lifecycle

Your Profile

  • Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (University or University of Applied Sciences)
  • Profound experience in smartcard OS and embedded security development
  • Solid knowledge of smartcard-related standards and protocols such as GlobalPlatform & JavaCard
  • Experience using AI-based tools for software development and design
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as Eclipse or Keil
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset as well as an independent, structured working style
  • Familiarity with version control systems e.g. Git or SVN is an advantage
  • Excellent English communication skills (German is a plus)

Salary

We offer for this position a package starting at EUR 60.000,- gross per year on a full-time basis. Depending on qualifications and professional experience a market-oriented overpayment is intended.
