As a Lab Expert and Manager for Digital Business Innovation (f/m/d)* of our new WKO Lab, located at the WIFI in Linz, you will bring digital technology to life. You'll foster collaboration between student groups and industry partners, showcase the transformative potential of digital innovations, and help bridge the gap between ideas and impactful applications.

Lab Expert and Manager for Digital Business Innovation (f/m/d)

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • Lab Management & Operations: Implement a comprehensive lab organization concept, ensuring proper maintenance of digital infrastructure, smooth operations, and timely software updates. Manage lab schedules in collaboration with lecturers.
  • Teaching & Supporting Students: Instruct students on digital technologies and innovation tools, providing hands-on support for technical setups, applications, and troubleshooting.
  • Safety Compliance & Certification: Develop and maintain a robust lab safety concept, enforce safety protocols, participate in required safety certification courses, and provide necessary safety training to both students and faculty members.
  • Resource Coordination & Vendor Management: Align laboratory resources with project-based learning requirements and coordinate with external vendors for software, platforms, and equipment procurement.
  • Strategic Collaboration & Outreach: Work closely with IT:U's Learning and Outreach divisions to advance the lab's capabilities and develop the lab as a satellite space for university activities. Facilitate events in cooperation with the WKO OÖ.

Your strengths and skills:

  • PhD degree or equivalent related to digital innovation, entrepreneurship, information systems, business informatics, digital transformation, or a similar field.
  • Work experience in at least two of these fields, preferably in an educational, research or industry environment.
  • Proficiency in working with digital technologies and tools relevant to innovation, prototyping and digital business development.
  • Teaching experience, experience in supporting practical innovation projects and translating digital opportunities into real-world applications is highly welcome.
  • Expertise in digital business models, SME collaboration, innovation processes and/or interdisciplinary teamwork is of advantage.
  • Strong understanding of responsible technology use, compliance, and operational procedures.
  • Knowledge of the (Upper) Austrian industry landscape is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in English and German (minimum level C1).

Salary

Competitive compensation starting from EUR 63.000 yearly gross salary.
