LINUX SYSTEM ENGINEER (F/M/D)
Our In this role you are part of the Base Engineering Development Team of TAS Platform. This platform is a safety critical real-time hard- and software platform for the railway domain certified for the highest safety integrity level. It consists of the operating system, security services, a safe middleware providing fault tolerance and safe communication, and hardware components.
The operating system team focuses on the configuration and integration of Open Source Linux environment on embedded hardware and industrial servers including virtualization as well as development of board support or domain specific drivers.

YOUR CHALLENGE
- Linux administrative tasks on server solutions to setup virtual environments and network infrastructure
- Develop frameworks to setup servers using scripting and Ansible Playbooks
- Contribute to manage server farms using cluster management software like OpenStack or Kubernetes
- Analyzing real-time issues on server and embedded systems including communication aspects
- Work on customer support cases in the field of system virtualization solutions
- Contribution to our Linux distribution like Yocto and driver development
- Evaluate open source embedded systems or solutions for use in TAS Platform
- You participate on technical workshops with internal stakeholders
- Work together with the TAS Platform support team in order to support stakeholders and developers
- Work in an agile team with highly standardized processes (quality, safety, security)
YOUR PROFILE
- A completed education (HTL, FH, University) in Informatics, Electrical Engineering or similar
- Interest and experiences in Linux system administration and development on OS level (Kernel, boot processes, OS services)
- Experience on server infrastructure design, remote system administration, virtualization such as KVM and cluster management software such as OpenStack
- Know how in real-time and embedded systems as well as security topics
- Know how in network setups covering real and virtual environments
- Programming experience in python, C/C++, GNU make files, shell script and ansible solutions
- Good communication skills for technical collaboration with external partners
- Analytical thinking and solving complex problems are your strengths
- Fluency in English, German skills are highly beneficial

- The salary for this position starts at EUR 50.000 gross p.a. Actual compensation is based on experience and qualification.
