Your Tasks
- Lead, mentor, and develop our global IT Infrastructure Networking engineers and specialists
- Design, build, operate, and continuously evolve our enterprise network infrastructure while driving standardization across the environment.
- Manage and optimize day‑to‑day operations, establish and track relevant KPIs and SLAs, and ensure transparent, consistent reporting to drive performance and accountability.
- Drive governance, process improvements, and standardization by contributing to network architecture decisions and the overall IT infrastructure roadmap.
- Take ownership of connectivity services, represent the networking area as an internal service provider, and act as an escalation point for internal customers within and beyond IT.
- Serve as the interface for local IT networking experts, internal stakeholders, and external service partners ensuring knowledge exchange, documentation quality, and effective collaboration.
- Grow and leverage shared knowledge across IT departments (e.g., Security, Cloud, Datacenter) to strengthen governance, processes, and network standardization.
- Manage, guide, and collaborate with external partners and vendors to ensure maximum value, performance, and operational efficiency from managed services and technologies.
- Actively participate in international projects and lead the implementation of connectivity work packages (e.g., new site rollouts, M&A activities).
Your Profile
- At least 5 years' experience in a network engineering role with hands-on experience in firewall operations as well as Routing (L3), VPN, WLAN and LAN management (L2)
- Previous leadership experience (team lead, project lead, mentoring senior engineer) is a plus
- Expertise and hands-on experience in managing and troubleshooting enterprise-scale network environments ensuring stability, security and performance
- Proven ability to drive execution, align technical solutions with existing architecture and articulate complex technical topics (both verbally and in written documentation) to non-technical stakeholders to ensure understanding
- Passion for developing connectivity solutions and standards when working with a complex environment using technologies such as Barracuda, Cisco as well as cloud networking on Azure
- Strong interest in bringing people together and acting as a sparring partner for the team, fostering collaboration, and enabling unified, sustainable standards that balance stakeholder needs and expectations.
- Mindset for service evolution, keeping operational excellence, KPI development, and continuous improvement in focus.
- Experiences working with ITSM Tools and Knowledge of ITIL Processes given
Fluent in English, German skills are a plus but not mandatory
