Project Engineer for Functional Safety (f/m/x)

This Business Area Vehicle Networking and Information develops modules and end-to-end systems for connected mobility along the strategic elements "Network. Inform. Integrate.", i.e. hardware, software and services. By providing solutions for networking, human-machine interaction, system integration and high-performance computing for cars, commercial vehicles and fleets, Vehicle Networking and Information ensures functioning networks and a smooth flow of information for connected mobility.

As Project Engineer for Functional Safety at Continental Lighting Automotive Austria Gmbh you are responsible for:

  • Customer communication regarding Functional Safety
  • Guiding all team members in the project so that Functional Safety Management can be fulfilled
  • Guiding the Project Manager related to Functional Safety activities to align the project with respect to ISO26262

Your challenge:

  • Perform Hazard Analysis, Safety Planning and review Testing
  • Performing checks for RE Plan, Traceability Plan, System Architecture, perform DIA, perform FS impact Analysis
  • Align with TPL Project Master Plan accordingly and then perform Project Safety Plan
  • Update continuously Safety Case
  • Performing Functional- and Technical-Safety-Concept
  • Review HASI (HW - SW - Interface)
  • Perform FTA and dependent Failure Analysis
  • Review SW/HW Safety Concept and SW/HW Safety Analysis
  • Check discipline requirements, design testcases and architecture related to Safety
  • Check confidence in SW tools
  • Review DV test results and disciplines test results if needed
  • Main contributor of all Functional Safety assessments
  • Support FMEA, SW Safety Architecture, SW Safety Requirements, PSP

Your profile and skills:

  • University degree or technical education at TU or University of Applied Sciences (FH) in electrical engineering, information technologies or similar)
  • Working experience of 2 to 3 years in a similar position
  • Expert knowledge in the field Functional Safety (i.e., ISO 26262, IEC 61508) and Safety Concepts
  • Experience in electronic control units
  • Very good English language skills
  • Analytical thinking ability and good observation skills
  • Team player with high communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of:
  • Safety Analysis, experience like FMEDA, FTA
  • Requirements Elicitation, Analysis and Documentation like DOORS with Traceability
  • Decomposition from system level to function level
  • HW/SW interface, Communication Protocols and Diagnosis
  • Failure mechanisms, worst case analyses
  • Automotive software development standards A-SPICE
  • Different architectures
  • Test Automation Basics

The gross monthly salary according to the electrical and electronics industry collective agreement for 38.5 hours is at least 3.398,14 EUR (14 x p.a.). Overpayment is possible according to your individual experience, educational background and qualifications.
