Join our dynamic team with a significant impact on bridging the gap between business, data science, and IT.

Lead data integration and provisioning services for company-wide stakeholders, including business analysts and data scientists. Shape data engineering and services within our future data lake house. Lead, guide, and develop the team in a collaborative environment, defining strategic positions and enabling agile data provision for global applications. This role shapes data engineering in a highly integrated global enterprise landscape.

RESPONSIBILITIES

All the responsibilities we'll trust you with:

TEAM LEAD RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and develop a motivated team while organizing tasks, managing resources and consultants, and driving project development and ideation.

Strategically develop the department, foster alignment with other teams, and actively engage in cross-functional groups.

Collaborate with intercultural teams, both technical and non-technical, and cultivate an agile and collaborative team environment. Create essential team documentation and presentations.

DATA ENGINEERING

Collaborate with data scientists and business analysts to refine data requirements and translate them into ELT designs alongside your team.

Oversee or execute the implementation of data pipelines.

Consult solution architects, the IT data science team, and data lake house operations to enhance or design new solutions.

Recommend effective techniques for data ingestion, preparation, integration, and operationalization.

Contribute to data compliance and governance efforts.

Collaborate with the business to establish or enhance governance and processes for responsible tool usage.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Take on budget responsibilities and engage in planning.

Thoroughly comprehend business requirements and use cases through discussions.

Drive continuous process improvement while delivering services.

Foster an agile and collaborative team environment. Develop comprehensive team documentation and presentations.

Experience

Your areas of knowledge and expertise

That matter most for this role:

  • University degree in IT or business administration with a focus on computer science, data science, or data engineering
  • Very good English skills. German is beneficial.
  • Architectural understanding of databases and ETL/ELT pipelines
  • Initial experience in leading, mentoring, and team development.
  • Familiarity with data science and data lake platforms like Azure and AWS
  • Basic skills in software engineering and software architecture are a plus
  • Fundamental knowledge and experience in project management
  • Previous exposure to working in a globally operating international company
  • Enthusiasm for both engineering tasks and comprehending business requirements
  • Experience within a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment beneficial
  • Travel: 0-10 %

Due to legal reasons we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary according to the collective agreement for this position, which is EUR 2.208 gross per month. However, our attractive compensation package is based on market-oriented salaries and is therefore significantly above the stated minimum salary.
