Senior System Test Engineer (f/m/div*)

Kapsch TrafficCom develops smart solutions to make mobility safer, more sustainable and efficient for everybody. We design, build and operate traffic management systems including connected vehicles technology and mobility demand management as well as tolling services for cities, roads, tunnels and bridges around the world. We develop data and video analytics platforms, building on state-of-the-art technologies including AI, machine learning, big data and cloud services to enable the digitalization of mobility.

Your responsibilities:

  • Conduct system testing of a distributed software system.
  • Plan, create, and execute system test cases to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Perform performance testing, load/stress testing.
  • Conduct API testing using Postman or similar tools.
  • Ensure the customer perspective is considered during the system testing process, meeting their expectations.
  • Plan and implement test automation for repetitive test areas.
  • Collaborate with development teams (Agile/SAFe).
  • Perform root cause analysis and document defects.
  • Verify defects and actively engage in finding solutions.

Your profile:

  • Hold a degree (preferably a Master) in system engineering, software architecture, computer science, information technology, electrical engineering, telematics, or similar.
  • Have a strong background in writing effective system test cases and test specifications using Cucumber/Gherkin syntax.
  • Hold an ISTQB Foundation Level certificate (preferably an ISTQB Advanced Level Agile Tester certificate).
  • Possess at least 5 years of experience in test automation.
  • Have strong C#/.NET development experience and general software development skills.
  • Have experience with development and testing tools like Jira, Confluence, Xray, Gitlab CI, Git, and Azure.
  • Be experienced with relational databases and SQL scripting.
  • Have strong experience in Linux OS, Linux shell scripting, and networking.
  • Demonstrate the ability to investigate and troubleshoot issues independently.
  • Be willing to interface in a central role with different teams.
  • Have experience writing formal test plans and related test documentation.
  • Possess experience with DevOps frameworks and tooling, such as Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes (a plus).
  • Be capable of multitasking and prioritizing work to meet project scope, budget, and deadlines.
  • Possess a mindset for efficiency, productivity, and creativity.
  • Have social competence and good communication skills.
  • Demonstrate very good oral and written English skills; German is a plus.
