Software Development Manager (m/w/d)

CGM is Europe's leading developer of IT solutions for the entire healthcare sector. As a Software Development Manager (Hospital Information System), you will be the key technical leader responsible for both leading multiple Scrum teams within a specific domain area and owning the high-level architecture of our customer-facing products. Your mission is to ensure seamless integration of new customer requirements with scalable, maintainable, and strategically aligned software solutions. This unique role combines hands-on leadership of engineering teams with a visionary approach to product architecture, driving technical excellence and customer value.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire multiple Scrum teams focused on a specific domain, fostering agile best practices and engineering excellence.
  • Define, communicate, and oversee the product architecture for customer-facing solutions, ensuring technical alignment with business objectives and market demands.
  • Collaborate closely with product management, UX, and business stakeholders to translate customer needs and emerging requirements into a coherent architectural vision.
  • Own architectural decision-making, balancing scalability, performance, security, and innovation across the domain.
  • Drive architectural reviews and cross-team alignment to maintain consistency and quality throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks, dependencies, and trade-offs, ensuring timely delivery without compromising quality.
  • Champion continuous improvement in team processes, tools, and workflows to optimize productivity and product quality.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including infrastructure, QA, DevOps, and security to enable smooth delivery and operational excellence.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to proactively evolve the product architecture and engineering practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience with at least 5 years leading multiple agile teams.
  • Demonstrated success in architecting and delivering complex, customer-facing software products.
  • Strong expertise in Agile Scrum methodologies and scaling agile across multiple teams.
  • Deep technical knowledge with hands-on experience in relevant programming languages, cloud platforms, and modern software architecture patterns.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with a proven ability to align diverse stakeholders on technical strategy.
  • Track record of managing end-to-end product architecture with a strong customer-centric focus.
  • Experience with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and operational excellence.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and a focus on delivering business impact.

Ideal Candidate Profile Includes:

  • Experience in Healthcare industry.
  • Familiarity with microservices, API design, event-driven architecture.
  • Exposure to emerging technologies such as AI/ML or big data.
  • Previous experience in roles combining technical leadership with product architecture ownership.

If you are interested in this opportunity, we offer a gross annual salary starting at EUR 62.800.-. Our compensation aligns with the IT collective agreement.
