Senior Software Engineer, Medical Devices

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be part of a team building a revolutionary imaging device. This device uses a novel camera system to close medical gaps. The imaging system mixes commodity electronics and computer vision solutions. As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll use your strong system software architecture and programming skills to develop products that interface with human beings to help them live happier, healthier lives.


  • Develop software solutions from first prototype to market launch.
  • Design, implement and verify an image management system for medical devices (interfacing with the camera SDK, calibration, illumination synchronization, image stream and display).
  • Collaborate with scientists from universities and other research organizations.
  • Integrate with industry standards and clinical database systems (i.e. DICOM, HL7).
  • Effectively implement test driven development (TDD) strategies.

Minimum qualifications

  • BS degree in computer sciences or equivalent professional experience with 3+ year in software development.
  • Profound knowledge and experience with C++ and Qt framework.
  • Familiar with writing software on hardware products.
  • Strong communication skills and comfortable coordinating with cross-functional teams.

Preferred qualifications

  • Familiarity with GPU-based technologies.
  • Linux systems experience: able to create and analyze software effectively.
  • Familiarity with programming Embedded Systems (ARM Cortex MCU).
  • Experience with embedded vision and artificial intelligence.
  • Regulatory Experience: understand fundamentals of writing code and technical documentation according to regulatory requirements (IEC 62304).

Salary will be determined based on professional experience; the formal minimum salary according to Austrian Collective Agreement is EUR 40188 p.a.
