R & D Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Engineer (m/w/d)

Role Summary

Are you excited about new technologies and innovative concepts? Do you have the ability to solve complex challenges? Do you want to create the drive systems of future electric cars?
Then you are right in the advanced engineering department for electrification at Magna Powertrain. As Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Engineer you are working on exciting challenges in the area of electric drive systems for cars to create our new mobility. You are integrated in a multi-cultural and multi-lingual group within an international company acting on a global scale. In close cooperation with other departments (e.g., e-motor, inverter, control) and external partners in industry and research your tasks in this position include:

  • Evaluation of the state of the art as well as definition and investigation of promising and innovative areas of application for artificial intelligence and machine learning for electrified (connected) powertrains
  • Development and implementation of the corresponding methods and concepts
  • Test, evaluation, and benchmarking of the developed concepts and verification of the identified potentials in simulation and at the real system
  • Close cooperation and contact with other company departments as well as partners in industry and research

Key Responsibilities

  • Degree (university or university of applied sciences) with specialization in artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, and similar fields
  • Project experience in these areas or appropriate PhD degree
  • Programming skills in Python and knowledge of the frameworks TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, Scikit, NumPy, pandas
  • Understanding of and knowledge about physics-based mathematical models advantageous
  • Matlab and Linux skills advantageous
  • Target-oriented as well as self-reliant and structured way of working
  • Very good English skills, German advantageous

For this function, we offer an attractive compensation package that matches your individual experience and qualifications. The gross monthly salary corresponding to the metal collective agreement for 38.5 hours is at least 3.439,42 EUR (14 x p.a.). Overpayment is possible according to your experience and educational background.
